The point clouds obtained from the survey were interpolated with QGIS to regular grids in 5 cm resolution considering the break lines. These represent a realistic description of the bathymetry and are the most important input data for hydraulic modelling. The data were sampled during the first measuring campaign in spring 2015.

sampled in the GLANCE project. Study areas were the Kinzig River catchment, characterized by a moderate gradient, fine-coarse sediment, surface runoff and interflow, the Ammer catchment, dominated by gravel and stone substrates with steep gradients, and the Treene River catchment, with a small gradient, sand-gravel sediment, and groundwater-driven conditions, which are located in the central lower mountainous region, alpine region and northern lowlands of Germany, respectively. The samples were taken from microhabitats defined by a combination of flow velocity and substrate type. Five samples per microhabitat were taken. During the survey, it was made sure to cover breakpoints and break lines (such as bank bottom and top, islands), bed irregularities (such as large stones, dead wood debris, sudden changes in bed level) and for the other areas to obtain an evenly distributed point density. The point clouds obtained from the survey were interpolated with QGIS to regular grids in 5 cm resolution considering the break lines. These represent a realistic description of the bathymetry and are the most important input data for hydraulic modelling. The data were sampled during the first measuring campaign in spring 2015.

During the survey, it was made sure to cover breakpoints and break lines (such as bank bottom and top, islands), bed irregularities (such as large stones, dead wood debris, sudden changes in bed level) and for the other areas to obtain an evenly distributed point density. The point clouds obtained from the survey were interpolated with QGIS to regular grids in 5 cm resolution considering the break lines. These represent a realistic description of the bathymetry and are the most important input data for hydraulic modelling. The data were sampled during the first measuring campaign in spring 2015.
